We camped here but did not have a fire due to the flammability of the poa tussock and the shortage of wood nearby to a flat spot. Just before the second crossing of the creek you break out onto a pleasant snowgrass plain/valley which is (probably) the last water on the ‘track’ to Mt Darling. There is an old hunter’s camp at the first crossing of that Mount Creek (which is a tributary of the Carey), but it has been unvisited for a long time (just too thick to hunt) and still very short on wildlife after that devastating fire event. Depending on how thick it is you might be better leaving the track at the gap and just climbing straight ahead over the ridge and rejoining the track at the Mount Creek.

The Carey Rd swings sharp left here, the other fork crosses the Mount Creek. When you come in sight of the Mount Creek there is an intersection. It switchbacks back underneath the way you have just come. You have to be paying close attention at the Mt Darling Gap or else you will lose the track. It will be a lot of work but I will go through and fix them. PPS: I noticed the photos in this old post had become distorted and on checking all my old posts are the same. There should also be plenty of water this year (at least in the Mount Creek) – and I think I see a couple of spots worth checking out in the vicinity of Mt Billabong too. The going should be better as it burned in early 2019 except along the Mount Creek). I think I have studied things a lot better on the topographical maps this time. Postscript 2020: I am going there again in the next couple of weeks as the coronavirus and my weak knees keep me from Fiordland this year. It deteriorates to (virtually) impenetrable thickets occasioned by wildfire regrowth (especially after the Mt Darling Gap – which would make a reasonable day walk), but it represents a reasonable ‘line’ to take. The ‘easy’ way in is to follow the old ‘Carey Rd’ (closed 20 years ago) 200 metres on the right before Dimmicks lookout (off the Howitt Rd above Licola). South Coast Track (Fiordland) Menu ToggleĢ014: Wilderness: Just spent a couple of days with Spot in the heart of the Snowy Bluff-Mt Darling Wilderness (around 1500 metres). If J.Cole is sending shots at Noname, fuck him.

Listen below on YouTube or Spotify.Ī lot of fans seem unhappy with Cole’s approach. Production is handled by Cole and Wu10 aka Kelvin Wooten. NoName responded to the track on Twitter. “And the frustration that fills her words seems to come from the fact that most people don’t see/Just ‘cause you woke and I’m not, that shit ain’t no reason to talk like you better than me,” he raps. It seems like Cole is bothered by her tone. She hasn’t put out much music lately but rather investing her time into her Book Club.

On it, it seems as though he responds to some tweets from rapper NoName that caused some controversy recently. It doesn’t sound like anything from an album or to promote anything, just some thoughts inspired by recent events. Tonight, Cole drops a new song out of nowhere called ‘Snow On Tha Bluff’. He called it his last feature and though many were skeptical, the fact that we haven’t heard anything since his classic run means it just might be true. Cole was in September of 2019 when he appeared on Gang Starr’s ‘ Family & Loyalty‘. The last time we heard anything new from J. We may not agree with each other but we gotta be gentle with each other. Meanwhile a nigga like me just be rapping. She has done and is doing the reading and the listening and the learning on the path that she truly believes is the correct one for our people. I love and honor her as a leader in these times.
